Monday LOL Book

LOL Snoopy
Today we have perhaps the snarkiest LOL book cover I've done yet. The Rise of Darth Vader, by James Luceno, takes place immediately after Episode 3. Poor Luceno has the unenviable job of trying to make sense of everything that happened in the prequels...

As always, previous LOL books are available at http://jimhines.livejournal.com/tag/lol

And if he can pull that off, I'll erect a shrine to him. *lol*

Mythbusters LJ icons? Sweet!

And yeah ... I haven't read the Star Wars novels in years, but this one tempts me, just to see how he tries to pull it off.

I usually only read post-RotJ novels. My childhood heroes were Han, Luke, and Leia. Their parents still fail to engage my attention for long. *shrug*

I only have two Mythbusters icons. I should probably get more.

LOL. Poor James. I don't envy him the task!

I... really don't think it's possible to redeem them.

Gods love George Lucas, and his utter brilliance in other things, but the prequels were just soul crushing to Star Wars fen. Especially the third one.

Also, did you hear about Robert Jordan?

I did. And I'm ashamed to admit I've never read one of Jordan's books...

I, personally, couldn't read the WoT books. They just didn't appeal to me. However, that does not mean we can't honour him for what he's done for science fiction/fantasy as a genre.

Hopefully, he's currently sitting next to JRR Tolkien and they are discussing whatever it is brilliant men discuss. (Personal opinion is, they are discussing the benefits, and drawbacks, of fangirls.)
