LOL Snoopy
LOL books remember when these suckers were still made out of lead. Previous LOL books are available at http://jimhines.livejournal.com/tag/lol.

Today's book is The Time Engine [Amazon | Mysterious Galaxy], by Sean McMullen. I'm thinking the mini on the right is going to need a larger baseplate to keep him from toppling over backward.

Those minis look like they can move across the board on their own. Do they come with batteries?

Maybe they're like those old football games with the vibrating metal field that made your players buzz their way toward the end zone? Or in my case, made them run around in endless circles...

Am I the only one who remembers this?

No, you're not. Then again, I'm older than you are. :P

I was thinking along the lines of the game pieces in the original Star Wars movie -- the pseudo-chess game that the pieces sort of played professional wrestling with each other.

I believe this one was part of a "Books Received" summary by a reviewer.

I also spend some time browsing Amazon and LibraryThing.

If that's the new miniature standard, I don't want to know what size a garden goblin would come. :)

You know, that dragon paints rather well. Most painters have trouble with the flesh tones.
