Muppets, LEGO, and Doctor Who

ETA: I’ve added links to YouTube for anyone having trouble seeing the embedded videos.

1) Via tor.com, clips of various Muppets trying out for the role of Yoda. Kermit’s bit is my favorite. (Direct link.)

2) For some reason, this next one makes me think of Seanan McGuire. From Paul at http://sariel.pl/ comes a working LEGO chainsaw. Okay, I don’t know whether this would actually hold up against zombie velociraptors, but it’s still extremely cool. (Direct link.)

3) Finally, Doctor Who LEGO, from infinitepi. (With a cute little Dalek and an autographed TARDIS, no less!) I totally need to try to build this one. Just need to figure out where/how they got the Police Box sign.

I don't know, Jim. I really thought Animal captured the essence of the Yoda character...

And Dr. Who legos!

That would explain Yoda's fighting style from the second movie. Though the idea of Animal with a lightsaber is terrifying.

Sadly, it seems, if you embedded from YouTube for the first one, it's a great area of negative space for me. I am amused, however, that for a birthday notice today, I actually posted one of the Muppets with a "happy birthday" thing.

First two should both have embedded videos. Did those not come through? Grr. No computer right now, but I'll try to fix that later. Sorry!

I'd assumed those embedded videos were shy, and playing hide and seek.

Ah, at least it's not just me... I'd thought it was just another instance of the latest versions of Firefox being a bit wonky.

I am surprised that it didn't work for me in Jim's post here. I tried a private entry into my own LJ to test it, and it works. Just another one of LiveJournal's recent quirks.

Thank you for a lovely morning spent among the muppets. Even though the YouTube embedding didn't come through, I found it anyway. Will search for muppets, you bet!

YODA YODA YODA!

Animal is my favorite. Easily. I do love Kermit's deadpan though.

The chainsaw makes me think of Seanan's alter ego; Mira Grant. In the two Newsflesh books she's signed for me she included a little drawing of a chainsaw.

Heh. She did the same for me. She's quite good at chainsaw-doodling :-)

They do, in fact, make a LEGO compatible TARDIS that they used to sell on ThinkGeek.
