Secret Project is Away!

Snoopy Pumpkin

I had two different blog posts I was thinking about writing over the weekend.

Instead, I finished revising the Secret Novel Project (code name “Feast”) and sent it off to the editor late last night.

Happy_minionsAnd how was your weekend?

I too, spent the weekend finishing things and sending them to editors--in my case, the copy edits for Wickedly Dangerous for Berkley and the revisions for a Midsummer book for Llewellyn.

My desk is now clear of deadline obligations for the first time in about 4 months. *falls over*

In theory, this means I finally get to catch up with things around the house and FINALLY start the new novel. In reality, it probably means that the revisions for Wickedly Wonderful (the second Baba Yaga novel) will show up any minute now. But a girl can dream...

COngrats on finishing the secret project!

Now what shall we do while we're waiting nervously to hear back...?

Luckily I have copyedits arriving this week. Otherwise, I would be in High Fret mode.

ETA: Okay, I lied. I am deep into the fretting. But are we surprised?

My weekend was okay, but The Boss messed up her foot. A trip to the ER and some x-rays later, indications are she might have a couple of torn ligaments and/or a bone chip in there. References to a specialist and the subsequent MRI are in the offing...

But at least I'm getting some lifting exercise helping her up and onto crutches so she can get around the house.

It would have been nice to visit a friendly local game store (FLGS) for International Tabletop Day on Saturday, but we had just come back from the state's Geo Bee finals and were a bit wiped out.

Oh, crud. I'm sorry. I hope they're able to get her taken care of.

Sounds intriguing! I want to know more ;) Looking forward to seeing this new project eventually.

My weekend was spent with my brother, finishing up my birthday festivities by way of him taking me shopping for my new camera. A good chunk of money later, I have something I've been wanting for years... and a very rainy landscape that keeps me from using it outdoors right now. Aside from having to go to work Sunday night (not unusual, given I work thirds, but annoying), it was a pretty good weekend.

Ooh. What kind of camera did you get?

A Canon Eos Rebel SL1. Standard lens and the telephoto one is in the mail. .. so I can finally take those distance bird/animal/etc pics I've wanted to for years!

I worked on the ongoing project and watched some baseball on TV. Typical for this time of year and on into the fall.

There's always another project, isn't there?

Congratulations on finishing the Secret Novel Project! :D

I made garlic bread and did some spring cleaning on the weekend. Also been getting back into long walks/ fitness.

Thanks! You know, I had fully intended to get out for a walk with the kids and the dogs, and then I got caught up in trying to finish the book. Grumble. Hopefully next weekend I'll do better...

Here's to hoping your next weekend will be more relaxing. :) Walking with your kids and the dogs sounds like a very nice idea.
