Everybody was Kung Fu Writing

Posted over at SF Novelists today. Click the image to go read. If nothing else, I amused myself, so that's got to count for something, right?

Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions and ideas for my presentation. Very much appreciated.

Not much to say today. The rewrite and I continue to do battle. Currently the rewrite is winning, but that always happens at the 30K word range. I still need to prepare a PowerPoint presentation for the thing on Monday, too. But not tomorrow, as I'll be getting totally tuxed up and standing in a friend's wedding. (We suggested Wookiee costumes instead of tuxes, but sadly he and his wife didn't go for it. Probably a good thing, since it sounds like it will be pretty warm this weekend.)

Anyway, have a good weekend, all!

If it's any consolation, I did it to myself, too.

Finished it last night, and liked it a lot. It's been a long time since I read the first book, which threw me off a little, but that's just me and my own leaking memory. Good story, nice little romance, lots of nifty ideas. I'm hoping to get a review posted eventually, assuming life permits.

Yes, the earworm of 'Kung Fu Writing' is spreading. *G* I agree that the red belt should be from the repeated banging of one's head.

I also wanted to let you know that my daughter, who is in sixth grade, is trying to talk her Language Arts teacher into getting an AR test into their system for Stepsister Scheme. The teacher will have to read the book first and if approved they'll get it for the school library.

Yay! Please thank your daughter for me. Personally, I think the book would be really good for that age group, but then I'm hardly an objective opinion :-)

Okay, but what's the writing equivalent of "High Karate"? ::sits back and ponders the unponderable::
