This went up on my main blog yesterday, but LJ was dealing with another DDoS attack, so it didn't cross-post here.

Magick4Terri - A fundraiser for editor and author Terri Windling, with auctions for items of amazing niftiness, donated from a number of skilled and talented people.

The Legend of Jig Dragonslayer, the 3-in-1 omnibus edition of the goblin books, now has a listing on Amazon. It looks like DAW reworked the cover art from Goblin Quest. Clicking the link or thumbnail should take you to the Amazon page, where you can get a closer look at the cover.

From Raphael Heusser, the Millennium McQueen, a LEGO mash-up between Cars and Star Wars. I am most impressed at how well this works. Click here or on the pic for more photos.

So that's what it was--another Do-Si-Do attack! Thanks! I'd wondered what happened. <,< Still, that second view of the MF-type car is second-view-worthy.

Um, are we allowed to comment on the cover of the Jig omnibus? Or would that just be pointless?

Oh dear Crom I hope they change it.

Of course you can comment!

Given that the image is up on Amazon, which is the first I saw it, I suspect it's probably final. (I did e-mail asking about it though, and haven't heard back yet.)

The scrambled artistic genres are killing me.

The cartoony, 80s-video-game overblown type is one genre. Done in the 21st century, it has a kind of self-aware ironic humor.

The painting, though humorous, is composed seriously. It's not a cartoony style, and the humor is not ironic humor.

Either of these approaches would be fine alone. Together, they're clashing.

(Also, they're put together in a very "I learned Photoshop today! Look what I can do!" kind of way. But that just exacerbates a bad situation.)

I'm told there may be some tweaks before the books are printed.

As I've said before, Jim, you find the coolest LEGO stuff.

I love the Lego. I'm gonna have to keep an eye out for that for my wife.

It's a fan-made model and a Photoshopped box, not a real kit, I'm afraid...
